Board of Directors

Tribute to Jannie Isaacs

“Attitude is Everything”

This was Jannie Isaac’s motto throughout the thirteen years that he served on the ASSET Board. Alongside his belief in the importance of good values and good
behaviour, Jannie emphasised the need for hard skills. Both were needed to make a difference.

ASSET is most grateful for the role he played in helping us develop sound governance rules and for monitoring our efforts so that these rules became internalised in our everyday
practices. We appreciate his support in Human Resources matters and his willingness to take on uncomfortable tasks. Jannie provided mentorship and coaching to senior staff and always made time to return a phone call and offer advice. Jannie’s values, skills and commitment made an invaluable contribution to the transformation of ASSET, both in our staffing and in the development of our programmes. He has been a pillar of support to the director and to the chair of the Board. We are most grateful to have had the privilege of working with a man of great integrity.

We wish Jannie a happy and well-deserved retirement, and many years of enjoyment with his family
